WHAT A WEEK!!!!

So, the family (all but Dad) has come & gone. It's been a crazy week. Camping on T,W,R nights, home on F. To Storyland on Saturday before work. Talk about hectic. Camping was great, but as usual no one realizes how far things are from where we were staying. It got cold the 2nd night of camping & I wished that I was home w/ my down comforter. Plus, I couldn't believe the roaming band of teenagers there at the campground. When I've gone & had K & some of her friends-they never roam. They stay at the site starting at 7pm so they don't disturb anyone. Oh well. What I had planned didn't pan out. So, to make up for it I stayed at the pool on Friday & just relaxed a bit. Saturday was a fun time. Couldn't believe how many people were already at Storyland when we got there at 915am. It was a bit strange. The new flying fish ride was awesome. T drove me & we had a blast. Rode on some rides w/ the kids & then left them w/ their Uncles & Aunts & 2 cousins. They stayed till closing & had a blast. Haven't seen the kids since 1pm yesterday afternoon. Celebration tonight at Huckins for Anne & Howard's 20 years and Anne's 15 years. In three more years it'll be my 15th, and K's 10th. Anyway...my time here is almost over & I get to go get beautiful for our anniversary dinner at the Christmasfarm Inn.

FINALLY A COOL DAY

Well, the heat wave has come & gone to some extent. We've been lucky...no big wind, thunder, lightening, rain storms like south of us. Had parents calling left & right to check on their children here at camp. Many were relieved to hear we had a little rain & some small thunder.

Celebrated M's 7th b-day today. He had some friends to Loon Lake & they swam & had cake & goodies. It was fun to see the kids all together in the water. Even some of his friends from camp came. He even got a hair cut at Sizzors of OZ this morning. Now his own version of a haircut looks good. Thank goodness for Carolyn.

K's been busy at work in the day care. She's also been gone quite a lot w/ friends. In 18 more days she figures she can drive w/ us all the time. I dont' think so. She's got other things to do then drive around w/ Matt & I in our vehicles. Although, Matt's been letting her drive quite a bit w/ him back & forth to the folks house & to Devon's pit.

E's got her schedule for KMS. On the team we wanted. I guess they didn't want to deal w/ me if they put her on the other. She's got some classes w/ K & K. She's getting a bit nervous, but I think she'll be okay. We'll just have to be on top of things to make sure she doesn't slip behind or feel that she has no voice in the new school. Got to get her some decent clothes & sneakers too. Plus, I think she needs cleats for soccer. E's not going to do band-thank goodness I didn't like that choice for her anyway. Rather see tha she get some help at that time if she needs it.

T's nose was a bit out of sorts this morning. B-day presents & he couldn't play with them for a week. How easily he forgets that M couldn't play w/ his stuff for a week. Oh well. They were both playing with some sort of race car thing when I went home at dinner to drop off pizza. No fighting as of yet...at least no phone calls from home that there's a problem.

Anyhoo...Hucksters & Candlelight tonight.

NEW BABY

So, we got great news this weekend. Matt's sister, Robin & her husband, Pat, adopted a little girl. Their family has grown by one more. The boys, J & J, are so excited to have a sister. No name yet for her as of last night. I can't wait to see pictures of our new neice. So, for Matt & I this makes 2 neices, and 5 nephews. Plus, another new baby due in November. We're so blessed.

Had a great day on Sunday. Went to church early & then strawberry picking. Irek and I were able to continue with our summer ritual. It was fun & we got about 10#s of strawberries. They weren't too big though, but they taste great. Took a boat ride out to the sandbar, but my favorite picture taking log was gone. Must have floated away with all the rain we had this past spring. I'll have to find another place to take pics of all the kids.

The girls came home from camp on Saturday. They both were glad to be back home. Although, K promptly came back to camp & then went to spend the night at L's house. She's a bit tired today. E forgot that she still has chores at home & that going to camp didn't erase them, only put them on hold for 2 weeks. Swim lessons continue this week. T is doing teriffic when he pays attention & follows along. He could move up if he'd slow it down a bit according to the instructor. M is also doing great at lessons. He really enjoys the time he has at the beach w/ his group.

BDay Celebration

We had a great day @ the folks celebrating Matt's 40th. He even got in the water & did some skiing. It's been a long time since he was on a waterski. K & E came home for a few hours to join in the fun. They both also skiied. T did quite a few trips out to the float & slide in the afternoon. M made friends w/ Garry & Jo's son & daughter. The kids all had a great time in the water & out. Dinner was fantastic, ribs, honey sesame chicken, cheeze burgers & dogs. Not to forget Barb's awesome beans-wouldn't be a cookout w/o them. Matt loves his gift-a 2 week trip to AK w/o the kids & I so he can go to some event w/ Robin & Doug & their spouses. Anyhoooo, enough said today-there's work to be done.

JULY IS HERE!!!1

So, today is the 1st and Matt is now officially 40. No big deal to him, but the kids are pretty excited. K & E will come home for a few hours tomorrow to celebrate w/ everyone. Not that there's going to be a huge party or something. Matt only wanted it small w/ 2 close friends & thier families, plus the folks. I'm so looking forward to a full day & evening at the beach. It's been sooooooo long. Last night was the camp fireworks. It was the first time that T & M got to see them from camp. They loved sitting down at the H2O Front w/ Matt and watching them. Matt said they were really bright. The 3 of them even got to see K, she was sitting in front of them. They didn't see E at all last night. Took us almost 3+ hours in North Conway to finish up grocery shopping and the like. I really despise the extra traffic a long weekend brings. Oh well, if it weren't for the tourists, people who work in service industries wouldn't have jobs or paychecks. Enough said. Bring on the Fireworks!!!!

The Sun is Out!

Yes, the sun is out today. A beach day this afternoon. Soccer was finished up this morning w/ awards & games. The boys loved it. The girls are having a fun time at Camp Huckins. W's went to a dance last night at Belknap, don't have the skinny on that yet. Hope this weekend will be just a great as today's been. Fireworks tonight at Camp from the island. Can't wait. M
